Anna Scott-Brown is Director at Overtone. Here, she writes about the drive behind founding and managing this successful company.
I balance an almost full-time job with being a full-time mother. So I never stop. I love ideas and I love people. I love seeing connections and finding potential and particularly giving voice to people who are often overlooked. I love the complexities of life and the challenge of giving those a simple narrative line while playing with all the other elements that make a good radio documentary so that the result has depth and clarity, richness and integrity.
I was in News for a while, but was too drawn by the chance to tell stories in documentary form. I have won a couple of awards (which is nice) but get my greatest satisfaction from the process of transforming ideas into radio, meeting people and gaining their trust while recording, and producing something that is beautiful and honest.
